Check the dutch registrations list, it's somewhere here on the forum (06-12-2024 01:29 PM)livelaughlevin Wrote: the filter is finally on, i will be making a heat shield for it at some point but it will have to wait. I got some help from fellow 86 enthousiast Mike Pieffers who made inlet pipe. How has the sound changed after this airbox and filter compared to thea filtered stacks? |

It still has a nice growl though so I'm not dissatisfied. For a daily this is a 100% a must. I think the apex'i filter is an important factor in this observation. I am considering playing around with spacer plates inside the box both for structural integrity and to fine tune the trumpet length to see if I can retrieve some more of the sound and low end power (even though it's acceptable as it is now) (07-01-2024 09:20 AM)ae86 forever Wrote: one of the best ae86's in the netherlands thx man! it's not done at all, maybe i'm worthy of that title in 10 years or so |

Far from a final answer (as it does not exist anyway) but still somewhat interesting https://youtu.be/G8L9_XO3iCw?si=huoffgJbNtVCFMr_

I am pleased with the power the car makes now and I do feel better knowing that I won't blow up the engine of I drive through a patch of sand. I still intend to do quite a bit of experimenting with the current setup, first on the list is an aluminium box to shield the filter from hot engine bay air. Then I will try to add a spacer plate to make the stacks slightly longer (which may or may not make a significant difference in "feel") and give some structural integrity to the baseplate (it's warping from the pressure the long bolts put on it) |
