Trueno emblem on US hachi
I just bought an 86 Trueno. my girlfriend bought me a trueno badge for the front and it seems to not fit where the Toyota emblem was. do I have to buy a new front bumper? if so can someone point me in the right direction towards buying one?

Do I need the JDM grille? or should it fit on the USDM Corrolla Grille?

I've seen guys putting it in the US grille, shouldnt pose a problem.
If you live in the US I would urge you to reinforce the mounting points cause those badges get stolen a lot. I believe there was a how-to on some website (dreamsofdrifting.net or .com). FABRICA MI DIEM, PVNC! |

I've got the emblem on my US grille and had to use a saw to cut it back to the right proportions. The trueno emblem is about 1 inch thick, while the stock toyota emblem was about half a centimeter thick. A bit of a waste to put a saw into such an emblem.
You can also buy a new bumper, however it's not just buying a new bumper... You will need new bumper brackets and bumper lights as well since you have USDM brackets and lights which don't fit the JDM bumper. You can try to ask iCal what shipping a whole trueno bumper would cost, but my guess is that it is expensive and already has a prefitted trueno emblem. 1983 - AE86 Sprinter Trueno - import project 2013 - Honda Civic sport - daily driver 2004 - AEU86 dot ORG - daily domain Support our forum, buy from the AEU86 shop: |

well I plan on eventually redoing the whole car, so I guess a Trueno bumper would be necesary evnetully. I am like super new to the whole Hachi scene. (excuse the ignorance and dumb questions) who is ical?

i have the same problem as you.
it also depends on what year your trueno is. mine is the 1984 model and the emblem is different for the 85-87 model. i take it that you have the 84 model like mine. |

Here you can see my logo (attached)... I've used a saw to make it flat enough to fit on the grille. Oh, and I have the zenki model, so that should be the same as yours.
Also the two emblems (zenki and kouki) and from what I see the kouki is slightly less thick. Don't have a picture of the zenki emblem, but the kouki is at hachi-roku.com. Dunno about the mounting points for the kouki, but for the zenki it is a single screw. 1983 - AE86 Sprinter Trueno - import project 2013 - Honda Civic sport - daily driver 2004 - AEU86 dot ORG - daily domain Support our forum, buy from the AEU86 shop: |

the emblem you have is probably for a kouki trueno (non us)
so its not going to fit in your USA grill you will have to do some customizing to make it fit if i was you jst keep it on your desk or something some knuckle head is just going to steal it or break it just to piss you off Max [email protected] |
