GAUGES - which?
i personally have only 1 gauge and it is an iEquus water temp gauge. they're affordable and they're more for utilitarian rather than show purposes. they look decent and i plan on picking up another to use it as an oil temp gauge. temp is temp right.

Apolan - you hit the nail on the head... properly installed gauges work... if they don't the manufacturer will take them back. Autometer, Equus(new one to me...) VDO, Smiths.... the name isn't that important... Remember this isn't the shuttle... or a Viggen, this is just a car(we all love our cars). a 5% error on oil pressure isn't going to be important... btw... anyone ever calculate the amount of error in OEM stuff??? Here is what I WOULD recommend... buy new, and THINK about what you want, BEFORE you buy. Oh... and only buy the name brand stuff(Defi... HKS... GReddy...) if YOU want it... NOT because someone said you should

very common thing. The oilfilter adapter plates. Easy safe way of plugging in some sensors. Not bad.

oil temp can go whereever you want... some people like to see oil pan temps, others can take the temp from the filter. For pressure take it from the OEM pressure point, it is the MOST reliable.

But im not sure.. because oil goes through the oil cooler than to the filter and than to the sender and on to the cranckshaft.. So what i would get is a reading of the chilled oil.. so when i would push the engine hard for a longer period of time i would get the reading of say 120'c, where in fact the oil in the engine would be at over 130-140'c ??

honestly, i've never tested my water temp w/ let's say an infrared temp gun (i plan to soon) but i have both the equus and the stock cluster water temp gauges going for general comparison. the water temp provides the numbers instead of "you're getting warmer" info that the factory gauge gives you.

i do like the oil filter adapter there. who's the manufacturer and where can i get one Yummie!

PASS racing makes some similar adapter plates, but I would prefer thermostatic bypass instead of full flow oild cooling for a street car.
