VEMS V3 Users feedback...
I am considering using a VEMS V3 (latest version) as a standalone
with a quad throttle body conversion. I would appreciate feedback from anyone who has actually used a late model VEMS ECU on their own car. In particular I would like to know how easy/hard they are to program for a newbie ?? I intend using closed loop WBO2 for initial mapping. All constructive comments welcome Cheers... jondee86 The reasonable man adapts himself to the world; the unreasonable one persists in trying to adapt the world to himself. Yup... already been in touch with him
But what I am interested in is getting some feedback from ordinary (non-professional) users who have installed VEMS on their own cars. Thanks [color=darkred:2c68451119]KrizKH[/color:2c68451119] That is the kind of feedback I was hoping for !!
Did you program the v3.3 yourself ?? And if so, how easy/hard was the initial setup to get the car mobile ?? Some interesting stuff on your website irishtwincam. Good to see
that the 13" Superlites are still a popular choice I'm 90% certain I will go with the VEMS even though we have the LINK ECU made here in NZ. VEMS has a few nice features like the built-in WBO2, which make for a tidier install. Gonna make the call in a week or two, so there is still time for anyone else with an opinion to post it up !!! Jondee86 bought VEMS at the end ?
Just so this ain't stupid revival of old thread, i wanted to share my experience with VEMS. I got v3.6 on my 4AGE 16V for some six months now, pretty much do everything myself. With support from Bob and company from VEMS support forum I succeeded to implement every option/feature i needed so far. Still lots of work ahead, but I'm sure it will all be done because VEMS works great, VemsTune software is in mature stage now and works without a glitch and support is there when you need it. Better installation manual and documentation would make things perfect, this is the area VEMS is weakest at the moment. You can get running system from as low as few hundred $/€. If you buy assembled, VEMS loom and all connectors and sensors new it will cost a lot more, but the best thing with VEMS and any other good standalone is that you can use existing sensors or whatever you can find and easily make them work. I haven't try any other standalone, but considering just what you get for what price, i can't imagine anything can beat VEMS. |
