What is the length of the coilover springs??
I didn't see the video, but you can run coil-over springs any length you want.
In my AE86, the front springs are 250mm long, others run 200mm long springs. Off road rally cars often run longer springs than this (due to longer travel). This does not dictate the ride height at all. That is to do with the placement of the threaded sleave, which you can weld anywhere you like, and the threaded adjustement. |

What is the length of the coilover springs??
Get them as long as you need to not coil bind IE they "stack up" before the shock travel is used up. Thats why rally cars have the long springs, Jonny said.
Wow, I could have sworn I had an account here... I guess I'm the new guy |

What is the length of the coilover springs??
Its difficult to calculate or check whether you are getting coilbind.
Coilover springs are usually only rated between 60-90% of their length, you want to make sure that all of your handling loads fall inside that range. Coilbind is then only used to determine where your bumpstops need to engage. Easier to just measure the TRD spring for the guy from experience I would say that the fronts would have to be a minimum of 8 inches long with 9 inch rears. If you dont intend to build a trailer queen then you might want to add an inch to those numbers otherwise you end up with a range of adjustment between slammed and scraping the ground People running 200mm springs require 7kg/mm rear springs to keep them in spec range. A wheel to steer the front of the car A pedal to steer the rear |

What is the length of the coilover springs??
Understood!
Thanks for the information... As the front I ordered these: Manufacturer: TEIN Free length: 250 mm Diameter: Φ 65mm Spring Rate: 8.0kg/mm Other: TEIN CS harmonic drive genuine front springs. Now for the rear axle I looking for 6kg/mm. They should be in the district for 250-300mm long, right? http://ae70.blogspot.com/ & http://drft.io.ua/ |
