Why does Kris sell his hachi?
Heya Kris,

Man this sucks big time!!!

I have to agree with these other guys, stopping with your 86 just because others are not giving you the respect you deserve but taking the credit away from you, just isn't a good reason. For me that would be extra motivation to go on and prove them wrong. Because seriously, they are obviously idiots that know shit about drifting. They should realize the extra difficulty in drifting the AE, they should also realize the status the AE has within the drifting world. Dissing you because you drive an AE is equal to saying that Keiichi doesn't know how to drive because he loves the 86. It just doesn't make sence.

Still you gottah do what you gottah do. If switching to a more powerful car is what it takes to put these assholes in their place, go for it! You might wanne hang on to that 86 though, unless you need the money offcourse, just look at Zax who now has what many drifters wish they had in their garage, and still choses to go back to our 23 year old car...Smile

I wish you the best of luck whatever you chose and I hope you do realize alot of people here do respect you for what you've done and senserely hope that eventhough you're switching cars, you'll remember us and come back here frequently, you'll always be welcomeSmile

Greetz,

Bastiaan "mux213" Olij

Moved down under, no more hachi Sad

KristianAE86 Wrote:that i cannot drive,
Seeing as you go sideways most of the time, you obviously can't.
KristianAE86 Wrote:i have to low HP
True again. If they can't drift with 120HP, you can't either. If it looks like you're going sideways anyway, it's just their imagination playing tricks on them.
KristianAE86 Wrote:, to ugly car
, to old car
Only crazy ppl thinks old cars are any good. Modern technology is so much better, so modern cars much be so much better too.
KristianAE86 Wrote:, i´m fucked up
, i´m crazy for using an 20 yr old car with 120 bhp
Yes you are (see above).

Seriously, they're just jealous. I think you should keep the hachi, but if you need the money to fund the new project, so be it.
Please note that I expect a thread in the project section chronicling your adventures with the build of the new car.

Honestly Kris I think you should keep the car and just tune the engine.
Its a very special car any other car you get there will be 20 of them drifting here in sweden with the AE there will be just a few.

If you would tune the engine you could even show them instead of getting a beast that wuld be cooler.

Why does Kris sell his hachi?
I'm real sorry to hear about this... I know how much shit Kristians has been taking over the years. He's gotten a lot of good words too, but people don't understand how hard it is to drift with a car that has 7.5kg per hp.

Sad that you have to sell the car, Kris. But everything will turn out good and hopefully you'll find your way back to another hachiroku sooner or later. Smile

Why does Kris sell his hachi?
It's a shame to see you selling the car. I was planning to go to Sweden in a year or so to watch drifting competitions, but it won't be the same without the white Hachi. I just can't understand why did you even listen to those idiots who were giving all that BS. But it's your decision. Damn...

Ahhh, VTEC. All the lag, none of the turbo. It's like waiting for bad sex.

KristianAE86 Wrote:Well.
it´s a long story. . .
I've heard most of the story, and it's easy for me to tell you what to do (since i've haven't been there myself), but...

KristianAE86 Wrote:I have NOT gotten the positive feedback I so well deserve for beeing the one person that introduced Drifting in Sweden.
4 years ago I got hold of a picture showing a AE86 drifting, at that point my face probably looked like Confused: , I did a quick search on the net to see if I could find some info about ae86+drifting in swedish, I ended up getting hold of Kristian's mail. Sent Kris a mail and from that point on I've been dreaming of pulling a AE86 sideways....

KristianAE86 Wrote:Then...
there´s been way to much BS-talk on nearly all swedish forums -

And so you should.

Here is where I don't agree with you anymore. By selling your car you admit defeat.

KristianAE86 Wrote: I have though,a new project that will take everybody´s breath away

But i cannot tell you about it here - only via PM oki - & everyone i´m

aluminium
4WD converted to RWD
turbo
600 bhp mimimun
pure race/drift spec´d
10-point rollcage
carbonfibre

Like I said, admitting defeat....

Huh I'm quite frightened with what you guys write. You can get dissed because you drive an old Toyota? I'm fortunate to live in a country where people still don't hate these cars... I wouldn't stop driving it just because people said so though.

Yes. It this way in western europe...
I've heard so many times that my choise of cars suck (80's RWD) cause their old, etc. I just tell them that they're jelaous cause they can't drive the way I do even if they practise for years.
And it's good that they like their late 90's FWD. Makes more RWD free for me to buy. Big Grin

Why does Kris sell his hachi?
Hey!!! Think twice!!!
Two months ago I almost sold my hachi! I was thinking to get rid of this ugly, old, low-powered, rusty car and buy something else, like S13 or something...
But, at the end, I changed my mind.
Hachi is inexpensive, easy to repair, simple, probably the best ratio FUN per €. I like to watch other people face when I drift in front of them in 20 years old car and they cannot do that in their new and fancy VW gti.
And what about winter time?!? Do you know any other car which can offer so much fun and great time on snow?

Fun is not the straight line!
