Improve 20V Blacktop cooling
Hi all,

As you all know I'm running a 20V Blacktop since 2015. What an engine, bla bla bla! You all know that the 20V is a beast engine on this chassis.

As a matter of fact, I was able to purchase a second one, and I'm rebuilding that engine properly with all bits and bytes new or as much new as I can get.

Now, to the topic that made me open the thread.

I have my Dash sensor on the back of the engine, using the 16V factory outlet that has the two original sensors, with the ECU water temp sensor and the Dash temp sensor.
And I have a DEFI water temp sensor on that side plate right next to the headers to capture that area specifically and understand the temps at the back of the engine.

Behavior is, when I'm cruising slowly the temperatures reach a value that makes me uncomfortable, 102C.
When I accelerate they rapidly drop to 82C usually around that....

On the dash, im always mid temp as supposed, and with acceleration even the dash lowers the temperature a lot... i feel like the Mishimoto is working as it should here Smile

The other day I think it was John Russakoff on Facebook that something can be drilled on the back of the 20V head to allow that hot water pocket to communicate with the rear outlet and let the cooling flow better.

Does anyone have any info on what we can do to improve cooling?

Cheers
