alignment issues after re-install of coilovers
Hi folks,

got some alignment issues after re-installing coilovers-brakes. as i live in a strict car law country I had to install oem shocks and brakes to get the car passed through my county's mot.

now i cant get more than -1° of camber, havent touched camber plates anyhow they are on max camber seetting. havent touched caster setting or anything else...just switched shocks.

had some weird toe feel too, cars feels scary.

already checked toe settings and they seemed ok.

checked bolts and nuts on front suspension, arms etc...everything was ok. only thing I havent measured was caster. which I will check this afternoon aswell as everything else again.

did anyone have similar issues once ? any thoughts about the issue ?

cheers,

Tom

OEM shocks = standard length AE86 open type, or do you have some
kind of sealed insert ??

Coilover shock is OEM length or short stroke ?? Does it use a bottom
spacer under the shock ??

coilovers are driftworks hsd cs2 with rca, so should be short stroke.

oem shocks were standard lenght ae86 I guess.

redid toe settings again yesterday , car feels better now , not that scary anymore but still got those camber issues..

as written before I just switched suspension for mot after that camber issue came up.

OK, so you removed the complete coilover assembly with spindles
and camber plates, put in an OEM strut/spring/shock/top hat assembly
for MOT, and then swapped them back.

All you did was take out two bolts at the bottom and undo three nuts at
the top ?? If that is all you did, the camber should not have changed.

Ride height is right back where it started? Without touching the spring perches?

A wheel to steer the front of the car
A pedal to steer the rear

Left to right swap possible?
Adjustable strut bar changed by MOT guys & spreading chassis apart?
