bouncing idle ?!

hi all,


i got a bad problem...

when my engine is cold, my RPM hops up and down (look at the video)
IM FREAKIN OUT!

if the engine is warm the rpms are normal (900rpm)


please help me ;(

First look for low level coolant or air in your radiator cirquit. Then check your TPS setting .

what are tps settings?!

Look if the ThrottlePositionSensor is correctly installed.(black sensor at the right side of the inlet with rectangular 4 pined socket at the back)

Most common cause is a faulty idle up air bypass valve (auxiliary air
valve) located under the throttle body. You can check by removing the
air intake ducting, and putting your finger over the air port inside the
throttle body. This is a round hole about 7-8 mm dia at the bottom and
in front of the throttle butterfly.

If the engine revs drop and stabilise when you block this port, it will be
the AAV that is causing the problem. Check that you don't have air in
the water circuit to the throttle body (pull off the hoses while the engine
is running and bleed out any air bubbles).

If that doesn't work, try taking the AAV off and cleaning it. If you still
have the problem, buy a new AAV from Toyota

Similiar thing happens to me .. and only when cold and idle.

In my case it's not AAV or TPS.

I'm preatty sure it's Cold Start Injector acting up... little clogged up.
Or some fuel delivery problmes (fuel pump, fuel filter).

Cold start injector only fires while the engine is cranking.
