cannabolics hachi...
it looked like shit, but turned out be not so bad after all.
it's a '86 model, has 160k on the engine and chassi. The engine looks untouched(runs great), gearbox needs fixing(2 & 3 gear), some noise from the diff. everything else works. one corner light is missing,so is the left door panel and has funny pins on the hood(by the way it needs fixing too, cuz I think the holes for the pins where made with a screwdriver!) the previous owner did some work on it: indicator switch=made of heavy iron!, home made corner light, front & rear sus(front is damage now) and he also poured litres of silicone to seal the sunroof. The car had some minor body work done on the left side, which needs to be fixed. ...I think that's all yeah..no rear corner screen but thanks to dAYTONA, problem solved. here's some pics Philip |

Have you got a picture of the car before you pulled it apart??
If you dont, I have two ;-) taken BEFORE you bought it ;-) it has less rust behind the bumpers then i expected. Very niiiice. Always remember: Rev it till it blows, then back off a bit... Zenkis - Orange, Red/Black, Silver/Black, Maroon/Blue Koukis - Red, Silver/Gray, |

Not too bad. Don't like it with the stickers and (fake?) racing locks on the hood.
But looks like it doesn't have too much rust. 1983 - AE86 Sprinter Trueno - import project 2013 - Honda Civic sport - daily driver 2004 - AEU86 dot ORG - daily domain Support our forum, buy from the AEU86 shop: |

time for some update
...it's been a while I've totally striped it and put it on a jig. Started to spot weld and fixing the rusty bits. waiting for U-Pol's weld 2 primer to be delivered and will weld those reinforcement in. Some camera pics: In the shed I took some inside pics. Haven't figured exactly how I am going to clean there. There's a lot of dirt inside. More pics here: cannabolic's hachi Philip |

He he, thanks Rob
they called from the shop today saying I can pick my weld 2 primer up on monday. Meanwhile I did some fabrication, which I can weld in once I get the cans Next up is I'll think I'll wait until I've welded those 3 pieces in before I cut that out. Don't want to weaken the chassi to much at once Cheers! Philip |

I've pick up pol's Weld 2 (weld through primer) which suppose to be one of the best
Firstly, I cleaned and sprayed some phosphoric acid where I could. Wiped the acid and painted two layers of Weld 2. Welded the first reinforcement Then some more cleaning and on with the primer again. ...and the next reinforcement I know, I need some welding practise Hopefully will get better later on Position while welding is the key thing... Got to learn somehow  Philip |
