dash lights and park lights problems **Sigh**

Been at it for about like 4 hours now.
My dash lights stopped working today.
My Park lights dont come on at all... Only if i use the park Switch on the dash and push the button they come on but still no dash.

So when i activate the Lights on knob... click i hear the relay clicking at the bottom near the fuses.
Then engage the actual lights click under the bonnet and they come on.
I have tried to short out the reostat switch....
This probllem started after fitting the radio.
Checked all fuses still no joy
Havent shorted out pins 1 and 9 but would this sort out my problem of no rear park lights.
If i use the P switch front and rear parks are on but no dash.
Tried playing with dimmer no differnence?
Bottom relay by my feet is clicking there is a 12 volt coming in on 1 pin the other two are dead which i think is correct.
So what could it be waiting for my number plates then i can start driving her worst part is i think they are out tomorrow and with out dash and parks i cant drive at night.
Please help guys ?

Just tried to short out pins 1 and 9 and still no joy
Tried to ground the Variable resistor gizmo and still no joy
So it must be a positive not reaching the unit ?Where should i start checking ?

Radio works .
And the interior light works
And the dash lights for the A/c control and fans etc are working.
Park lights come on when i use the Park light manual switch but when using the light switch i get to second click hear a relay clicking and see no lights... even the lights symbol on the dash doesnt come on the blue one i think... but main lights are coming on brights and dims

Confirm parks are supposed to come on when you engage the main light switch and rotate it one click and then second click you should get main lights bright and normal beam..
On the second click of the main switch i get nothing but hear the relay clicking .

Blown fuse for rear tail lamps believe it or not wired in my head unit in and grounded the ground wires to the park light voltage + so that meant when i switched on the lights it was grounded through the bolubs weired but it was the cause ...
Though i checked all the fuses imagine.
