distributor prob

Hi guys my ae86 distributor started leaking and since i had a spare distributor off an AW11 i decided to put it on.

I installed the AW11 distributor and now the car runs crappy,

Before install i set TDC on the engine and made sure the rotor arm is at the 1 position (on the cap)
Once installed it struggled to start so I twist the distributor all the way clockwise and it will run but really not well,
if i twist it anti clockwise the engine will struggle and slowly cut off.

Im using aw11 cap and leads aswell

Car was running fine with the original distributor

I dont know what i missed

any help appreciated

Until someone with better knowledge answer..

Are both cars MAP/AFM ? Maybe you mixed it up ?
Checked if all leads/sparks are firing ?

I dont know if i mixed up as i searched around and ppl has used aw11 distributor on ae86's with no probs

will check the leads tmr as its dark now, i used the aw11 ones, but will try the 86 leads tmr

If I´m right the AFM dizzy has a different plug for rpm signal but not sure...
Swap over the finger/ cap and leads from the AE dizzy if its still there, check the diagnosis codes, mayby your engine can tell you whats wrong

the plug from the aw11 dizzy (yellow plug) plugged straight into the loom no probs and looks the same as the 86 one

I will check/use the leads and rotor arm from the 86 dizzy as i cant use the ae86 cap as the holes wont line up

It sounds like the distributor is a tooth out.......

will re-install the dizzy again once i check lead and arm
