Ivan141 Wrote:Concentrate on the cooling system. It is the usual suspect for unstable idle RPM. Have seen it many times on many different 4age equiped toyota's. or maybe it is just coinsidance?what should i do to be sure that therr is no air in the cooling system?i have order these 2 new from toyota... 4age 16v to FR 20VT |

It might be coincidence, but it is well known that 4age's display this type of problem when there is something wrong with the cooling system.

Drain approx 1 litre of water from the radiator, there is a special screw
at the bottom of the radiator for this purpose. Do this with the engine cold. PUT THE HEATER ONTO ITS HOT SETTING heater fan is not important Run the engine and after a few minutes re-fill the radiator slowly. An analogue brain in a digital World |

Apsogos Wrote:totta Crolla Wrote:Drain approx 1 litre of water from the radiator, there is a special screw Yes from cold without the radiator cap fitted. Let the engine idle for a minute or so and then gradually add the coolant. Once it is all added allow the engine to idle for a few more minutes and then re-fit the radiator cap. Ignore for now the plastic expansion bottle. An analogue brain in a digital World |

We still havent find solution here.Cleaned the throttle body, changed the iscv, changed the water hoses on throttle body, setup the tps, checked the valve clearances, checked the compression, replaced the hoses behind the tvis ,we left on purpose the tvis butterflies open, the tvis valve works fine. Now i am waiting new temperature sensor and we will check the fuel system and another pressure regulator.
Ps i forgot ..we bled the cooling system. the problem begins at the start of the engine at choke procedure as you can see on the video...nothing changed with the new iscv . when the can is at operating temperature....the problem is that engine working like this: vououum - pop pop - vouuuuuum vououmm -pop pop pop -vouuummm the engine should work only like : vouuuummm all the time "i mean stable" the "pop" thing you can hear it from cold to hot .....nothing changing.... these changes can be seen at idle on the rpm indicator but are very very small 4age 16v to FR 20VT |
