engine problem please help

hi guys

bit of a problem that soneone might be able to shed a bit of light on.

first off, ive checked for fault codes, replaced plugs, it got a fuel filter at the end of the summer.

as im idling in traffic at 800-900rpm it will be ok, then a big miss will come in, it will drop to 400rpm or so then regain right away, it might do tis 3 times, it might do it once, it might not do it at all. but its been doing it more than before. sometimes th miss is bad enough to stall the engine, then ive to restart it
in addition to this problem it now wouldnt rev over 3000 on sunday,
it would rev fine to 3000 and then just stop dead, die and start, regain power, die again etc. i took the connection off and cleaned it and stuf it back on.

i checked for codes and im getting 3 flashes and 4 second pause, then 7 flashes, which says ignitor and TPS. does thsi sound like a familiar problem to anyone??

On my daily-driver 86 all of the rev problems i had (and believe me they weren't that few) were all fixed by replacing some part of the t-vis.

It may also be distributor/igniter faulty...

Try to check the vaccum tank (its a black plastic small tank just below the intake manifold), see if the air is blown only one-way. (You can do this by blowing with your mouth directly through it). If not replace and check the little relay next to it for continuity as shown on the manual.

Check all tubes flowing from the t-vis to the varied sensors around.

Something similiar but very rearly happens to me after I changed Fuel Filter...

Maybe fuel pressure with new filter, or fuel pressure regulator or fuel pump.

i was thinking it might be the fuel pump alright. could it be the igniter???

Try exchanging your TPS if you have a spare.
