how to ship shock absorbers from japan?
Had a Megan Racing Damper set, sent from the States a few months ago... So don't know why you can't ship them.

I have a question, and i'll be using your topic.

I need to ship an engine from Ireland to Portugal (because it's a nice deal), but i can't any company that does that kind of transportation.

Which companies do you use to transport stuff?

Regards

Wilson has a lot of connections around the world, and are good at arranging transports either door to door or collection at the harbor.

Have you triede GLS, they also ship pallets, and i think they would be a good first attempt, before contacting Wilson or those types of companies.

how to ship shock absorbers from japan?
at the end I am sending the suspensions by sea, at least is cheap...I shipped stuff by sea before and it always arrived

about shipping companies I have experience only from japan so I can't really help you,

I used nittsu when I sent my engine some years ago and I think I paid about 800 euro, the crate was very expensive, they had to use fumigated ispm15 wood and they put valves on two sides like I was shipping some kind of bomb...and I had a very hard time opening it. I still have the base part intact because it's too big for the stove and I can't even chainsaw it as it's full of nails...

and I am pretty sure you have to remove all liquids from the engine before sending it.

I really wonder if the regulations for shipping overseas is the same as by plane. I can imagine that you are not allowed to take these kind of things in a plane because of the pressure differences in the air. Overseas this gas won't have to deal with pressure differences, so I think you can easily ship it by boat.

if thats true, i can tell you that im really content about surface shipment. Takes 2 monts, in worst case 3, but it always arrived and looking at the boxes it has been handled with care.

don't be fooled - aircargo is traveling in the same big planes you use as a passenger so the pressure is adjusted, the pilots would faint otherwise.

Still pressure is different. You can feel in to your ears, you can see it on plastic closed thing. The air inside expands.

Not more differences than if you live at the sea level and go into the mountains with your car.
They can tolerate that on your car so no problem on a plane Tongue

post office says they won't send shock absorbers even by sea freight. so it's impossible to send shock absorbers abroad from a japanese post office.

I wrote to Ewan @ HayaTonka, I hope he has a solution.
