the reason i have those gauges is beacause at night the dashboard does not light up most of the time, so i needed something else to show me the rpm and the temp...the volts and the vaccum are for fun and i got them for free

Ah ok! Just ask Ivan about the fix for it..his does it as well and I believe its a simple problem with a connector..It looks like a Swiss kuckoo clock shop interior like this
A wheel to steer the front of the car A pedal to steer the rear |

I have tried about 5 times now and I still havent figured out what the problem is with those dashboard lights. it's either the light switch or a bad connection/broken wire from the switch to the dashboard. Silly 80's jap electronics are really awkward to work with...they switch the lights to ground instead of to 12v, gets confusing sometimes. FABRICA MI DIEM, PVNC! |

the dial for the lights uses a resistor, and thats the real problem! you need to punch it several times in order to get the dial light to work...the least i could do was to put the other ones on...

I used to do that too...but after a while it just got worse and worse until it wouldnt light up anymore... mine seemed to work if i wiggled the wires at the back of the switch a certain way so I suspect a wire break. Measurements on the switch didnt indicate it was broken.
