there are rumors about a hachi doing the nur in 8:50
He attacked everything in life with a mix of extrordinary genius and naive incompetence, and it was often difficult to tell which was which. |

This is a question thats impossible to answer..what sort of hachi do you mean? Bog standard or race modified, street-able or full race? And if you allow tuned cars, when does it stop being a hachi? Do you mean a full-lap of the Nordschleiffe or the GP strecke or the combined circuit or the BTG time?
The potential of the ae86 is certainly present. The VLN races have been won numerous times by Opel C Kadett coupe's, which are a similar platform to the ae86. (Beating some stiff competition). May I ask why you would like to know? That would help in formulating a usefull answer. FABRICA MI DIEM, PVNC! |

If Sabine can do it in 9.xx mins somthing driving a Ford transit then I would say its a safe bet that she would be able to drive an AE86 around in the 8.xx mins mark.
Frankly I dont care how quick it goes around as long as your smiling after every corner who cares Cheers James |

I think you are extremely underestimating the transit. Some of these new vans with turbodiesels are pretty fast..
Getting a stock ae86 into the 8.XX ? Good luck A wheel to steer the front of the car A pedal to steer the rear |

I was always wondered - is Nürnburgring, with its wide open turns and high speed not the wrong place for the Hachis? I dont believe, what it will make some fun with a stock Hachi reaching top speeds on it and waiting for the turns to come...

Waiting for the turns to come? Are you talking about the same nurburgring that the rest knows?

Ivan141 Wrote:Waiting for the turns to come? Are you talking about the same nurburgring that the rest knows? Yes, but I guess this is relative, what you are comparing with. I use to drive on a road full with hairpins, which is actually an official rally track used for up- and downhill races. How would you describe the Nurnburgring? I've never been there - just been watching some drives/movies from it. "..el camino's aren't supposed to make sense, craziness is what makes the world go around." - Car & Driver, 1984 |

I would describe its as official rally track used for up and downhil races..damn it doesn't really get any twistier then the nordschleiffe.
Anyway..this thread is getting a bit out of hand. Timing your laps is forbidden by the insurance companies and discouraged by the organisation. People who are interested in this should either get into serious racing or stick to the safety of the PS2+GT4 combo. A wheel to steer the front of the car A pedal to steer the rear |
