You may have more than one problem !!
If your aftermarket gauge is connected to the OEM sender, that will be one problem. The OEM sender pulses when the engine is running, and switches current to ground. The pulse rate varies with engine speed )oil pressure). It is very unlikely your aftermarket gauge can read pulses. The second problem is that the OEM sender should not be switched to ground when the engine is not running. So if your gauge pegs as soon as you turn on the key (engine not running), you either have a wiring problem, or the sender is broken and shorting to ground. Solution... get the correct sender for your aftermarket gauge, and check the gauge wiring Cheers... jondee86 |
