period 1980'S gauges
does anyone have any info on the sort of gauges that would have been used around the time the ae86 were being made?
pics would be even better if you have any,i want to put some decent instruments in but i dont want to use new style gauges that stick out like a sore thumb many thanks |

i think (Siemens) VDO gauges are the best choice.. they have been making gauges for many sportscars in the 80ies including porsches etc.. Their classic line (cockpit vision i think its called) is superb for a hachiroku. imo.

wow those ones look great i think they are just about perfect,i should have thought about checking vdo,suppose my head is still in the jdm clouds

I'm using Westach gauges.

Paid 120 pounds shipping and sensors (EGT K-type as well!) included for the two duals in '05. The size is 2 1/4", so it will fit into the center console. I guess the angles can be done with any DIN holder.

They would have used the TRD gauges because they had those during that time. If net I woudl use the VDO gauges found in the VW and BMW cars.
