the car seems to be reving high when you put your foot on the accelarator but it just doesnt match up with the speed.

When you put it like that I would suspect the clutch...

yes theyre is a smell but it isnt a smell of clutch, more of a petrol smell.

Well, look at it this way: the rpm of the engine is directly proportional to the speed of the car, so if as you say the speed is lower than it should be at a certain rpm, then the only possible cause can be the clutch..
But then again, maybe it's just a feeling your getting.. FABRICA MI DIEM, PVNC! |

it would honestly say it probably is the cluctch but i dont understand how all of a sudden it is grand and the next day complete difference.

Possibly a leaking rear crankshaft oil seal..But then you would smell burned oil for sure I think.
