project "twin cam 16" another AE86...
My latest addition to the Toyota collection, that I got a few weeks back from Switzerland, genuine AE86 3dr from 1985, for the price of 100CHF (around 85€). I agreed immediatelly, no questions asked, but also no idea how arrange transport.
![]() I bought it as an abdoned restoration project from a kind guy who just hasn´t got the time/ abilities to finish it properly. Since the last buyer never showed up (price was 300CHF back than) he decided to sell it with an even lower price for a quick sell. He knew what kind of car he got, but he much rather sold it complete, to good hands that hopefully appreciate it, obviously he wasn´t to crazy about the money... Even if it doesn´t look to complete in the pictures, all exterieur parts and 95% of the interieur is there and in good nick! (so speaker holes, rips etc). I haven´t seen much brown red interieurs in Europe either. ![]() It´s like a giant puzzle with all the boxed parts, but previous owner labeled most of the parts and all the plugs from the interieur loom. It also has a genuine Haslbeck spoiler kit. Engine is a Swiss spec bluetop with EGR non kat, 214200km and the engine started first pop with a battery. Also got a quiet a few mostly black interieur spares, a 2nd bonnet, downpipe and a complete cylinder head with it. It´s pretty solid underneath (sidemember section over muffler already replaced) and I really know how rusty they can be down there. Need new rear wheel arches (got AE82 ones with it to make them suit), sills are a bit rotten at the back, rear pockets gone, the section inside the rear strut tower, and a few minor patches. Doors are surprisingly solid! It´s missing all of the clips to mount the rear left quarter window, if anybody has them and whould like to sell, let me know. ![]() Its also missing the rear parcel shelf ![]() Since it´s a 3 door, and not a 2 door, the chassis was not really usefull for me, initial idea was to break it for spares and sell the rest to gain some money for my other 86. Buy a 2nd 2dr shell that I can prepare (seam welded, cage, rot free) and swap everything over. By the time I saw the car in daylight, sat in there and drove it on my premises, I just couldn´t... ![]() Can´t take the responsebility for wasting a good chassis (no sunroof), with minor rust issues and with nice complete interieur, so yeah going to stay with me as long as I don´t get into serious money trouble. Plans are simple, repair the chassis, give it full paintjob, staying red or cream white, with black bumpers (inside out/ engine bay), put in the interieur get some 2nd hand coilovers and trd blue rears + springs, polybushings, full service for engine/drivetrain/LSD, redline taillights. For rims I´d choose a pair Hoshino mesh, cause they´re freshly painted and polished, 14"x6,5 and 14"x7J. Run it as a daily. ![]() Well, main concern, students don´t really earn a lot money, so its going to be really a really slow on progress... ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Hope you like it! ![]() 1979 Toyota Corolla KE35 1983 Toyota Corolla AE86 1985 Toyota Corolla AE86 |

Ok, everybody likes bargain AE86´s.
![]() No worries, it´s not going to be sold for spares, I already made up my mind! Bean Bandit Wrote:WOW 100CHF is a steal man. I really like people who stick to their principles. ![]() 1979 Toyota Corolla KE35 1983 Toyota Corolla AE86 1985 Toyota Corolla AE86 |
