rust and where to check?
Anyone care to list the areas for rust on the AE86 so I know where to check on my car, I want to make sure I know exactly what the state of the chassis is in.

Regards

James

The worst places usually are:

The arches (rear mainly)
Inside pockets in boot of car are quite a water trap
drivers footwell
shock turrets (may need to strip the boot of the car to see this clearly)
also worth checking your petrol tank straps to be on the safe side

Those are just a few places that seem to get the most visible stuff but its definitely worth getting under the car and prodding it with a screwdriver to find structural stuff.

Yep..also the chassis rails under the boot are known to rust... I suppose you will be getting it without a rear seat, but thet also rust under there sometimes. The bottom of the doors is also often crunchy on older cars.
My petrol tank straps are also rusted...you can see those best when you take off the rear bumper.
