t50 gearbox shifting rough
Hey guys,
Is it me that i've been spoiled with a smooth and direct shifting W50 tranny from my 21r powerd celica? I find my T50 tranny in my aa63 celica very hard to handle. Not smooth at all, I cant go trough the gears quick without cracking sounds from the gearwheels. Is it a fucked gearbox or are T50 boxes just shitty trannies?  A sidequestion: Since i still have my W50 box in the wreck at home, how hard would it be to modify the W50 to suit a 4age? I reject your reality and substitute my own! No more Panda.. I have no problems with my T50 but if you read around, when they get warn they seem to suck
 W50 upgrade sounds like a nice idea

exactly. My W50 box is a very nice box to handle. And it seems that those boxes are stronger then the T50's.

You'll need a 4age to W bellhousing, they are specially made somewhere in the phillipines I believe.
Then you need to shorten the driveshaft too, unless you can use the one from your old celica. FABRICA MI DIEM, PVNC! |

T50 sucks.... POS.... costly to rebuild.....
Either go with a W box or be a bit patient... I'm having an adapter manufactured that will mate the 4A bell housing to a Miata 6 speed. http://www.aeu86.org/viewtopic/t50-to-az...ues/t/4283 It won't be cheap... no where near as cheap as the W box conversion... but the gears will better match the 4AGE....
