taxes/customs for goods from USA

What are the standard taxes and customs when importing goods from USA to UK (England) ?

I'm talking about used and new car parts, of course

loads - usualy around 4-6% on value+shipping and then another 17.5% ontop of that again... that's for parts - whole cars are 10+17.5 or in the regions of that... that's the worst case as sometimes packages slip through customs without being dealt with but don't count on that, especialy when it's large parts

just ask the seller befor buying to put on the package its a gift and its worth no more than £20 .ive often done this when buying stuff and it slips through costoms with out them wanting money off you
