i think ae86 is for thoes who really like the car for the car itself. otherwise its not practical at all. basicly because of lack of power. (if you plan to use it in motorsports) and even if you swap the engine to a big ass atomreactor, the original powertrain cant support it. -> you have to swap the gearbox and get a stronger rear axle from another car or at least halfshafts. thats a lot of resarch, work, time and shitloads of money. then comes the question: why do i start off with an 86 if i have to change almost everything in it anyway? if your true answer is: you love the 86 for no reason (maybe for its style, mood etc) then its the car for you.
othervise: go for nissans, bmws! edit: bigger toyotas can also be an option if i were to start off with my project today with my actual experience, i would chose: its like the new, bigger, stronger 86 for me. it kicks ass |
