which is the best quality flywheel brand for 4age smallport?
Hi everyone,

I am looking at different types of flywheels fo my new 86 rallycar build and was wondering what everyones opinions are on the best quality/performance/priced flywheels on the market?
Toda, Cusco, Exedy etc etc

My engine will be around 200hp and rev limiter set at 9,000rpm, and it is a rallycar so a medium(not super light) weight would be more suitable.

Cheers

I would say Jun Light weight type (not the Ultralight type)
part number: 2001M-T005
Chrome-molybdenum steel, 4.1kg (OEM= 7.6kg) retail price: JPY36,750

For comparison I will list few other (japanese) brands with part number, retail price and weight:

Jun Ultralight
2010M-T005
JPY42,000
3.6kg

Toda
22100-4AG-000
JPY46,000
3.7kg

Cusco
116 023 A
JPY49,000
3.7kg

Jubiride
PO38-20071228223958
JPY39,900
3.6kg

There is plenty other brand available of course Wink

PS: Exedy japan don't make flywheels (TF01 only listed on the US website and without specs... supposed to be 4.8kg)

Fidanza 4kg and the friction plate can be replaced for little money. (I guess you can find it cheaper locally than from Fensport)
The last point makes it a winner for me and the reason why I will get it for my car.
I also looked into ORC clutch combos (309 or Light240) but don't know the wait. They are also rebuildable but costs are higher.

Not sure on the weight but the stock blacktop one might fit your needs.

PS: also some good info here if you have a good machine shop at hand:

Fidanza is for life! By the time you´ve imported those JDM lover brands you pay a lot more and still got a single piece flywheel!
Well worth the money and even if you slip the fuck out of the clutch, just change the friction surface, while the other ones are scrapmetal.

I just bought one for my 7AGE build for a 7,25" carbon clutch. Wink

7.25" - that's ~185mm? I'm looking for the 215mm would you know a cheap place in EU?

7,25" are the normal 2-3 disc race clutches.

Fidanza are about 320GBP no matter where you buy them from.

Just google and find a dealer in Switzerland, if that doesnt work Fensport in the UK supplies them Wink

They are ~300$ on amazone, just need to find a better shipping rate. It's a pity as I'm going to the US in March but the crank is already on the way to the shop for balancing.

Right, what I meant,
300USD + shipping + tax =320GBP delivered from fensport in 3-4 days. Wink
