Little starting Problem
Hey!
My stock 4AGE Engine had a little starting problem when the engine is hot. When it´s absolutly cold, i turn the ignition key and the engine runs perfectly, when the engine is hot, i turn it off and after a very short time i start it again it also starts great and runs perfect in idle BUT when the engine is warm it doesn´t start at all, i have to push the throttle just a little and after a time the motor runs.... i changed the sensor and the coldstart injector, but no change at all :-/ thanks for your help |

Little starting Problem
Have you got all your temperature sensors (air and water) installed and
hooked up ?? Have you got an electrical idleup valve hooked up ?? Still got winter fuel in the tank ?? Got a fresh set of plugs installed ?? Ignition timing checked and set correctly ?? Cheers... jondee86 |

Little starting Problem
I had a similar problem due to excessive ignition advance a long time ago.
Reinstalled my distributor a tooth off. It would start fine when cold, and very difficult if at all when warm. FABRICA MI DIEM, PVNC! |

Little starting Problem
AshCampbell Wrote:Electrical idleup valve hooked up? what do you exactly mean? Most, if not all 4AGE's have some form of electrically operated idleup valve. Its purpose is to provide a small amount of extra air to help, among other things, the engine to start. It usually allows filtered air from the intake ducting into one of the small vacuum connectors on the throttle body. Some engines will also have a vacuum operated "throttle lifter" on the side of the throttle body. This has a little spring-operated rod that pushes the throttle slightly open when you turn the engine off. Once the engine starts, engine vacuum acting on a diaphragm, retracts the rod so that it does not interfere with normal idle. Both of these devices are designed to save you having to crack the throttle open when starting. But check you timing anyway Cheers... jondee86 |
