Strange TRD pistons 4a-ge
Mikzu IV Wrote:Hi
I bought these unused 81,15mm oversize, trd (Mahle) pistons for the 4age,
but the seller said that they were for a special setup with longer connecting rods from an other toyta engine or something, he didn't know exactly either.
so if anyone knows better please help me.
The piston rings are also missing Thumbs up!

same shit in finnish:
Ostin tuossa käyttämättömät TRD (Mahle) männät 4age koneeseen mutta niihin pitäs kuulema olla vähän pitemmät kiertokanget jotka on kuulema jostain toisesta toyota moottorista, tietäiskö kukaan missä koneessa olis semmoset? ja mitkä männänrenkaat sopii?

Hi,
I´m writting from. I have a rally/race Corolla AE86, ex-works and the car has 4 Mahle pistons but they have some use, so I needed a new set. However, it´s very dificult to get here in Portugal and in TRD Portugal, they denied to me that.
So I´d ask you how and where you get your set and how much could cost that.

Regards,
Diogo CS

If you need con.rods, just contact http://www.hasselgren.com they have TRD/Carillo rods for $450
There are shortblocks and longblocks Atlantic engines, and at least 3 different conrods for the shortblock engine. Thats why you buy them as set, and because they weigh exactly the same within 0,1g. I have 5 rods, 3 identical, one 20g lighter and one 20g heavyer Confused Bought them from a guy i US, because his engine was rebuild to a longblock insted.

And correct, the Atlantic engine use 19mm pin Banging head

If you shave 5,5mm of the block, you will get less cubics and less power.

But mayby these pistons will be great with a 7A crankshaft, 4A conrods and 4A block.

Project AE86 now begun.
