That is one sick conversion! I'm not sure it qualifies as a cheap mod though...

Jan Pedersen Wrote:Thanks for your comments, guys! Ported and milled head (10+ CR), 280 cam and sidedraught carburators will be greath ! If I remember correct - your dizzy is not ECU - dependent (on carburated Starlet)...so just add some advance to the ignition also. |

hello!
i am not so confident that just a 280° cam without anything else will work right. at least you would need some bigger carburetors like jamie said. but its a sideflow engine ... 2 valve .... 1200ccm ... i would be lucky if it runns normal. 56hp, would have been happy this winter (i just had 47 ). be carefull with the ignition timing. i destroid KP61 1.300ccm 65ps because of pinging some time ago. i wouldnt do that again on a stock engine enjoy it like it is and save for another engine and other hardware (AE86 tech) if you really want to. at least thats what i am planing for the far far future hey, at toymods.com.au there seem to be some blokes who really love these old engines. they may know some small tricks!? |

Wow! nice starlet with the F20C/D. Must go like a rocket!
Of the oldscool engines, most people tinker with the 2TC and 3TC engines (1600 and 1800cc's). The older K series are difficult to get parts for. Usually though, the T series crossmember of similar cars (corolla etc) bolt right in. Do that, bolt in a 3TGTEU and do the bhp dance. Much better blocks for boost then the 4A-GZE. A wheel to steer the front of the car A pedal to steer the rear |

3T-GTEU, nice engine
Fits very nicely in a KE25/TE27 "It's all about the heart, the people who focus on parts, turbo's and all that stuff...they're just losers." -Shinji Minowa |

Thanks for your advise guys! I really didn't know anything about the k-series engine and I just hoped to be able to get a cheap power increase... I'll leave it stock for now and focus on my AE86 project
