AE86 rebuild...

Finally...

I've started taking the 86 apart...

How she is now.
- doors out
- rear side windows out
- trim intact
- clips, except for one, ok
- rear window out
- rear window rubber intact
- front window out
- mirrors off
- front fenders
- bonnet
- trunk

The rear windows was a real pain to get out, without cutting up the rubber...
The front window... erm... was glued (black window kit) on... rust underneath the sealant... that's a bummer...

Found some more small holes underneath the rear windows rubber...

But... Nothing unexpected...

PS1: to the previous owner, whom shan't be mentioned by name, exhaust pipe is NOT structurally strong enough to function as rollcage reinforcement!!! idiot.

PS2: I'll try to find a camera to take and upload some photo's ASAP (before anyone starts asking for them )

Next on the list is:
- Jack it up high, so I have good accessibility
- Remove the front cross member
- Remove the rear axle
- Remove fuel tank

then... time to weld!!!

Ah, but it is light.. so you can fake a cage, with most if not all of the stiffness benefits, whilst seeming to comply with (guessing) drift-comp regulations, without adding 40kg to the car.

It is bad for your coconut though...if you flip it.

Ah yes, I remember hearing that one about the cage before.. I do think it was done that way on purpose.
