Have you seen the AA60 coupe around the top of the shore somewhere? Old couple owners, OY5545. Is it sad I know that plate by heart but not my own?

Took it a little further afield today, have a list of things to fix up as long as my arm, not very nice to drive at the moment, but will be better once everything's sorted.

The Carina looks great!
Do you already have the longer bumpers or will the Carina stay this way?

At the moment I've only got the 'small' bumpers as per the pic.

However I'm in two minds about the other ones...

They definitely look a bit better, but they weigh a frigging TONNE compared to the ones I've got!

You'd be really surprised if you saw them both side by side.

I think the 'big' bumpers were designed as the american crash standards type setup, where had to widthstand a 5mph inpact with no damage or whatever.

Because they are built like brick shit houses in comparison to the ones I've got.

I want to keep the car as light as is practical since I want to take it around the track a bit, so I'll likely keep the shorter bumpers for now.

I finished reconditioning the rear one and resprayed it yesterday, looks a lot better than the condition of the faded front bumper in those pics above.

can u just remove heavy parts from the bumper?

Ah, the same type of bumpers just like the poor A60 Celica owners got...
You can't easily remove the heavy parts from them since the plastic is moulded around the heavy stuff.

From experience with my USDM Corolla SR5 I know they weight a tonne. I removed the rear bumper and it weighted at least 30 kilograms while the Euro bumper only weights 1 kg or something...
Also had a small accident with the front bumper and a garage door: the bumper survived without any damage while the guard rail of the garage door did not.

The plastic bumper skin is pretty easily removable off the metal frame, with these ones at least.

So possible to swap over to wrap around type without incurring a 100kg penalty perhaps haha.

I dont mind the smaller bumpers though.

Quite like the look of the AE92 etc front bumper on carinas so might go down that path eventually anyway.

Hey there's one part for mine that I cant find, its the bracket that holds the rear seats together in the middle, must be some sort of hinge type thing?

Sam any chance you could take a pic of what it looks like for me?

All I know is that it's got three bolt holes where it bolts to the chassis, but no idea about what it looks like!

Its bound to be here somewhere haha.
