digital cluster on 4agze coil packs??

ok so am running the ae101 4agze coil packs on my 20v and i have a tach adapter so it can read it correctly to my cluster...but somehow it still doesnt read it right and was wondering if anyone had any idea of what i could do so my tach can read the rpms correctly

i have a digital cluster on my ae86
and i have this tach apater

now supposedly it should work since i had the the wiring profesionally done but still fails to read correctly the tach

i also saw on club4ag that if i change the resistors in the cluster it will fix the problem but i have a digital cluster so the board inside is a little more complex so i cant change what i need to..... so i dont know what im lookin for

any help would be great

You could just have built a tach signal booster and connect it to the ECU output, which I am assuming is present on the 20V ecu.
I build and sell those myself to anyone who's interested, but it's not too hard to do yourself.

o ok sure am down to make one..

i have aftermarket ecu though stinger...will that be a problem?

No problem, all you need to know is the voltage level of the output signal (5 or 12 volts?).
I am assuming the digital cluster takes it's signal from the same source as a regular tach, in which case a booster should work.

i know this is old but yes i need an output of 12v and input 5v

how would i go in making it? do i use a relay?
is their any relay on the ae86 that i could use to build this?

I'll have a look, I just use small PCB relays myself to keep form factor small (and I happen to have more of them than I know what to do with).

I use the exact same design as the one on toymods, I just make sure to calculate the resistors for the desired input voltage. Output is not exactly 12v, the coil is used to create spikes which the tacho expects to receive.
