map sensor or something else?
hello guys

the bad luck is chasing me!
i need help....
yesterday my car was at my mechanic...i replaced some water hoses (the small ones near the thermostat and one small corner hose of the heater valve.....my mechanic drained some water fluid in a bottle from the radiator to do the work and he finished the work refill.
He changed the brake hoses with perfomance hoses and new brake fluid too.
I changed the starter with a reduction starter too.thats all the work that did.
He had tested the car yesterday..today i took the car after 5 minutes when i press the brake to a slope to decrease the speed and stop , the engine shuts down ...i thought it was my fault but the engine cranking but not firing!i called my mechaning with check the connections everything seemed to be fine.He remove a cable from the plug...the car fired worked with 3 cyl and after he connected the 4trh...
the fauld on the ecu was 2 i think is vacuum sensor - vacuum sensor circuit...
the line are all new ...
we removed the battery pole to eraze the fault...
everything seemed fine ...
i got home fine...

Today at noon i got down at my car to check....cause i didnt like that she shutted down in the morning....
I turn her on and and unsteable idle (i check the faults and fault 2 again) .Not hunting but unstable...pap pap pap ...

I measure the volts of the map source 4.92V (the manual says 4-6 v if i remember right.

i have check the hose of the map...again ... i replace it ..the same...

i removed the map....
I test it to a friend celica 4age 16v 1989 the same engine with me 2nd gen tvis.I install the map we turn her on(celica)
it work fine for the moment....
any thoughts?

I tryied other map the same thing unstable idle(not hunting) and the thing is that the engine from cold not choking to 2000rpms eg but to 1500 max 1200rpms when hot 700rpms and feeling unstable...
on the street seems to me no loss of power

no ecu faults after testing

Please block off the breather pipe that goes into the inlet plenum
from the rocker cover and report back.
(the easiest way to block it off is to screw a bolt into the rubber pipe)

The high idle when cold is perfectly normal.
950rpm when warm is perhaps a little high and the FSM suggests
+/- 50rpm @ 850rpm
