Advice needed on parts!

Right I finally got my 86 off of the road for a bit of a freshen up, the top of my list is getting the diff rebuilt. I am planning to get the diff out myself and send it to a specialists to be rebuilt and then re-install myself.

I've done a little bit of research and have read its pretty simple other than removing the half shafts. Basically what I wan't to know is what parts/seals would you replace for good measure along the the way?

Also any tips wouldn't hurt!

Replace all gaskets.. Toyota sell a complete gasket kit for the rear axle that has pretty much anything you need.
The only other seals to replace are in the pumpkin, and I assume your having that done buy the specialists you mentioned.

When the time comes to replace the complete diff unit into the axle casing
put the big round gasket onto the diff unit not the axle casing :wink:

Thanks guys, just been to Toyota and ordered a gasket set for the rear axle £5!

Is there any parts like bearings (non diff related as i assume my diff builder will tell me what i need here) that aren't ridiculous money that would be a good idea to purchase?

Wheel bearings are the only ones left outside the pumpkin, and they are silly money. Good thing they last quite a while normally.
