20v no spark & dry plugs.
As topic suggests.
Starter cranks engine but there seems to be no spark and plugs are dry & clean? Maybe ECU is not getting power after all? This suspicion stems from the above observations, as well as the fact that the fuel pump relay is not engaging consistently, it just keeps clicking (Had to wire up a separate circuit w/relay, fusebox & switch for it) ECU power as per instructions is connected to constant 12v source, its connected to black wire w/yellow stripe @ ignition lock but no dice.. You have no engine check light... Some wiring needs to be corrected!
You must have the orange engine light on before ignition! regards |

Heh, if I knew where to connect it.. ae86 wiring diagram is crap for anything but sanitary purposes and so far I`ve truthfully had a lot of people tell me to "Do this"/"Do that" when it goes for wiring on this car, but little to no help from same persons on wire-colours and location
My Tweak`d Performance wiring loom has two wires for check light I believe. @ the diagnostic plug near ECU which has blue & brown wires, OR I could jump in on the TE1 and TE2 pins @ ECU, but I`m not sure where to connect on gauge cluster wires.. AE86 diagram says via bulb check relay (wherever the heck that is) its R-B & W-B, which can be Red-Blue or Red-Black or Red-Brown... Thats 3 different wires then... Thanks AE86 manual, you made me none the wiser! And the other wire is supposedly W-B so thats White & Black on white connector (Blue connector has no white wires). But even if I knew which of the Red-Black or Red-Brown or Red-Blue wires, the two terminal connectors have one Red-Black wire each Even if I did take the risk and try and connect check-light it would definitely light because no O2 sensor (To ECU) because no manual shows which wire color does what (I have universal O2 sensor) And I have no water temp sender (To gauge). So knowing my luck so far those would take precedence over any real problem with starting the engine anyway So you see.. With no-one really intimate with EDM AE86 wiring willing to share their knowledge it`s not so easy 1x AE86 84` Zenki Coupè Levin 4A-GE 20v 1x AE86 83' Zenki Coupe Levin 4A-GE 16v 1x TA60 82' Sedan 2T 8V 1x TA40 78` MK1 Zenk/Pre-Facelift Wagon 4A-GE 16v |

Did you followed this guide
http://forums.club4ag.com/zerothread?id=101899 Are you using stock 20V ECU? Are 12V arriving to +B and Batt ECU pins? Keeping the AE86 alive! |

Check ECU fuse. Check if applicable, crankshaft position sensor, camshaft position sensor, knock sensor, airflow sensor wiring.

I`m using a complete stand-alone harness from Tweak`d Performance which has no fusebox (Other than one 30A fuse @ thick gauge wire connected @ battery 12v+ Terminal)
Have tried using that guide for reference but most of it is irrelevant (Incl warning light) because my car has no OEM engine harness left. Thanks for heads-up in any case The ECU is stock. Ignition is stock (Distributor relocated, #SQ-Engineering) The wiring loom per instructions from Tweak`d, is connected to 12v terminal in engine room and Earthed @ back of engine head and 12v switch @ Ignition Switch (Black-Yellow wire) and Tacho, Oil Pressure, Water Temperature (Loom>Gauge) is connected. Using KE35 fuel tank in luggage compartment (So Fuel sender is not compatible with AE86 fuel gauge hence it`s not connected) ECU is getting power, Fuel Pump relay clicks per revolution on crank, so crank angle sensor is also powered and sends feedback to ECU! Knock sensor is connected EVAP is not connected (Not needed) Oxygen Sensor is not connected (Have Uni-sensor installed @ exhaust but cannot find what OEM wires are and what they do compared to Uni-sensor which has two white wires for heat and black for signal and grey for ground) ISCV is connected IAT is connected Ignitor is connected Coil is connected ECU Noise Filter (At Coil bracket) is connected TPS is connected VVT Solenoid is connected Oil pressure sensor is connected. Water sensor (For ECU) is connected Speed Sensor is connected (@ blue-white on gauge cluster) Injectors are connected Checking all wiring (As suggested) means I have to cut up ALL of the wiring-loom tuck on my wiring loom.. But I can tell you that @ every nook and cranny where wires are actually visible, they are not torn up, and the tuck provides some proper armor for the wires Edit: Connected wire on warning @ ECU and tried connecting it to Red Blue, Red Black, Red Green and Green Yellow @ gauge cluster, no check light yet when turning the ignition. I`m pretty sure all bare-essentials are connected though and engine should at least have fuel and spark? Thanks a lot for chiming in people, I appreciate the input 1x AE86 84` Zenki Coupè Levin 4A-GE 20v 1x AE86 83' Zenki Coupe Levin 4A-GE 16v 1x TA60 82' Sedan 2T 8V 1x TA40 78` MK1 Zenk/Pre-Facelift Wagon 4A-GE 16v |

When you turn the ignition ON, do you have...
1. 12V at the coil ? 2. 12V at the injectors ? Power for these does not come from the ECU. They are powered up directly from the battery via the key switch. Cheers... jondee86 |
