jasper Wrote:i allready broke some halfshafts with my 20v 4age.... so i did the h100 rear axle conversion, and i cant kill it! drove about 6 years with 320bhp and 435nm, never did an oil change I hear you, well I´m only running 200hp max. At the moment with 140hp I havent done a final drive but did do a halftshaft. H100 whould be overkill and certainly more work an money than buying the weir shafts, if the gear set are strong enough... 1979 Toyota Corolla KE35 1983 Toyota Corolla AE86 1985 Toyota Corolla AE86 |

Just making sure we are talking about the the same thing here. I can get them custom made but its big money and still weak on the actuall spline to diff bit. 1979 Toyota Corolla KE35 1983 Toyota Corolla AE86 1985 Toyota Corolla AE86 |

Just got my reply from weir, after I´ve send him an email 5-6h ago.
He recons, his axle kit together with 6,7" ring gear will last 300hp, from there one the final drive becomes the weak point. I´ve got a brand new 4,7:1 so it should last for a while Thats a good answer, and I´m convinced to buy them and hopefully say goodbye to broken halfshafts and still maintain my AE86 axle casing and the brakes! 1979 Toyota Corolla KE35 1983 Toyota Corolla AE86 1985 Toyota Corolla AE86 |

I too went for the H100 axle swap, only difference is I'll put a Pajero diff with LSD into the axle Bit heavier than the weir performance AE86 axle, but even if you have thicker halfshafts, you'll still have the weak r&p. So its not THAT big disatvantage... AE86 GT - SR20DET BlackTop //// Trackday beater Citroen C4 Coupe VTR - 1.6HDi //// Streetcar |

Can anyone tell me more about the H100 axle than?
I can´t find them and they got drum brakes and are well expensive, and thats in Germany and the UK. I can find one in the UK are about 350€ which seems expensive as fuck to me and none in Germany. By the time I got all the mounts cut bend and jiged to fit an AE86, together with adjustable link bars to set the pinion angle, I recon I spend more than a weir kit costs, and it more unsprung weight and 4,22 is a pretty bad final drive... What ratio are avaliable? Are they all drum brakes? What pcd? How wide compared to an AE86 axle? What diameter on the cwp? I was looking into Estima rear axles /7" cwp) as well which are cheaper like 150€, and got at least a 4,3 and disc brakes, but the weight is unreal compared to an AE86 axle, I dont wanna put any more unsprung weight on the rear as it just makes the liveaxle problem worse... Just trying to to gater information what other people have done, how much do you recon you´ve spend on an H100 conversion? 1979 Toyota Corolla KE35 1983 Toyota Corolla AE86 1985 Toyota Corolla AE86 |

What did you end up doing?
I've got Pajero axle and bracket kit to fit on mine but I don't really want the hassle of it all. I'd need to get loads of things machined to make it work. I'm considering the Weir kit. If you went for it, how much did it cost with shipping and customs? I will be running 270bhp |

for all you that interested. i have did some pajero and h100 axles for ae86 chassis. i have been selling conversion bracket sets for those who have the skills to do the conversion themself. there were also some people who asked me to do their conversion a bolt on finished job so i have been thinking of doing this as a short term business and bring this swap to people in a reasonable price.
you can ask me to just do the axle case for you or to do a full plug and play like rear axle with brakes, links and all. let me know if you guys interested! |
