Mumford link
I had the idea to develop an affordable mumford link kit for the ae86 chassis a good while ago. im seeking challenges in suspension development and if theres interest for this, i would go for it.
if you dont know what im talking about, this is a panhard rod alternative, live axle lateral motion control, the best possible solution so far. even better than watts link. -no sideways motion, only up and down. -most important advantage is the control over the rear roll center. with a panhard rod, the roll center isnt fixed, could be anywhere along the panhard rod. with watts link, the roll center is fixed to center but it is still high above the ground. with mumford link, you can set your rollcenter close to ground level or even below it. result should be a much better traction and more predictable behavior at the rear. could help for rallying and track racing. let me know what you guys think! |
