Names Chris, From Bournemouth UK...

Not bought one yet... But before my next insurance renewal I WILL own one Smile

Since I was 14 and saw a clip of the Initial D movie I fell in love with the 86!!!
Fell in love with the angles of the car...
Every time I was changing cars I would look into buying one, but the price tag and insurance always held me back.
But due to a change in financial circumstances and cheaper insurance premiums I will be getting one before the end of October...
Its a stone cold fact!!!
Its my dream car and actually an achievable one unlike some peoples dream of exotics...
An old friend of mine has an AMAZING GT, fully striped and custom painted purple... its definatly 'adult material' and yes... Very jelous of her!!!

I joined up early so I can gather facts and info on the best things to look for. The bad parts to avoid and probably most important... Parts availability...
Would be good to make a good friend base in the 86 community as we all need help and support Big Grin

My partner has a 2004 Nissan Cubic Rider imported from Japan and parts are quite hard to get hold...
Looking forward to good times Smile

Welcome to the community
Parta for an AE86 sometimes are very hard to get. I buy most of my parts from Japan because here in europe they hard to get sometimes or overpriced.

Cheers guys Smile
The only real specification is it must be a Hatchback...
Correct me if I'm wrong but other than the lights theres no dfference between the Trueno or Levin?
I like the pop up headlights... But they look to much like the Mk1 Toyota MR2...
So will probably aim for a Levin...
Bodywork/Engine wise... My brother has a large knowlage of the 4AGE engine from the MR2's (as far as i know they are the same engine...) I know a thing or two about engines...
I am fairly good with a welder and can work magic with fiberglass and filler...

I just cant wait to get in one Smile Smile
I wont be buying the first rotter I see... Will be a fresh Import and will come with a good warrenty package Big Grin

There are some differences in addition to the lights:
1. different fenders
2. different bonnet
3. different front bumper
4. Tail lights differ:

However the Euro-Corolla and US-Corolla hatchbacks both got the Levin tail lights.
