Yes indeed. And similarly, people put Pluspy stickers on their cars to give a nod to K1

I'll never be this good at model building. I quit (that's a joke btw, I'm not competing with anyone in the hobby).

I recently found the Sileightymania podcast. Their fourth episode features Moto Miwa, the founding father of Club4AG:

It is very interesting to watch/listen to as it tells an interesting story about the founding of Club4AG and the early days of the drift scene in the US.

Not so much inspiration, but it did blow my mind when I found out some shop in Indonesia (autologi) converted a KE70 into a Trueno AE86:

Heroes! Respect!

A very interesting idea to avoid Takumi-tax, but I doubt whether it would be road legal over here. Big Grin

I have mixed feelings about that replica. It's impressive to see the skills involved, but I like the KE70 so can't help but feel like it's a shame to have taken one off the road.

I have been to indonesia about 10 years ago and the road was like 30% full of small kei vans (Suzuki Carry, Honda Acty), 30% trucks, 30% Honda Super Cubs and 5% KE70s and 5% other vehicles. So I reckon they have plenty of those! Big Grin

I'm not going to comment on this 1:3 scale AE86 shifter model...

That 7A-GE in the last video got all the way up to 11K! Hurray!
From what I understand he changed the crank, decreased the stroke a bit to make it 1600cc again and went for custom conrods. What a madman!
I also found this video of that very same car in the suggestions after I watched it:

In this video he explains he was told by OS Giken that the 4A block wasn't strong enough and therefore he took a 7A block.
Keiichi Tsuchiya managed to drive it at 10K, but there are issues with the jets in the carbs which do not allow him to go beyond that. Then he also makes an attempt to drive a Trueno with a Hayabusa head, but it spills water from the heater [/php]core and he has to abandon the test.

spills water from the heater core... Banging head
very exciting stuff tho! i wonder why they retained the regular shifter throw instead of doing a short shifter...
