HOWTO: Mazda FC3S 4pot Calipers

Ok,

I know I already have these brakes on my car but I know others intend to do this conversion too.



I had a little search arround to see what I could find out in terms of the bracket you need to machine to fit onto the front strut so you can get the caliper in the correct place.

I managed to find this thread on the Toymods forums. It talks about a the brackets required and one of the users Hen Bokbokbok took the trouble of making all the calculations and making plans for them !!!!

I have attached the actual images to this thread just in case they get lost in the big wide wilderness that is the internet (You never know - aeu86.org may still be around on the hachis 30th birthday). Could somebody check if Hen objects to this when they mail him (get him on aeu86.org!!!).

Hopes this helps somebody else continue this thread into a complete howto.

Hey guys. Good to see that these drawings are helping more people out. The only thing I ask is that people don't try and make money out of them. But by all means use them if you can.

Yes all measurements are in mm. And that 24.8degree measurement is a bit of a strange one. If the bottom of the four mounting holes is vertically below the centre of the stub axle hole then the centreline of the two caliper mounting holes is 24.8 degrees below horizontal. It puts the caliper in the same position as stock.

And if anyone wants CNC code for them, I can provide the SolidWorks model of the part. In 2004 version I think, and no, I can't save it to .dxf, I've already tried.
