Problem with backlight
I lost backlighting of gauges and air control. I checked the fuses, but nothing, thay are all ok. Gauges are working, econ/power lights are working, but backlighting is not working.

What to do next, which relay should I change/check?
I hate driving by night with no idea how fast am i going Sad

Weird that your air control is also not lighted. I've had both problems once but they weren't related. the wiring to the lighting switch tends to get a bit loose on ae86's.. I used to give the light switch a tap and the dashlights would come on again. My air control lighting once failed too, but that was because I shortcircuited it by accident. Somehow that problem fixed itself after a while.

My best bet would be that you should check your connectors and jiggle the wires a bit to see if that helps. If it does you know where to do some soldering/cleaning.

Hmmm, what about checking the cable from your lightswitch? I can change the illumination of my dashlights on my lightswitch and perhaps that cable is loose/broken? Confused

I've had the same problem and have come to the conclusion it is the switch. If I take the switch out and move it about the lights go on and off. You may have the same problem or your wires are corroded and need soldering. If you come to the conclusion its the switch then speak to JonT and let him know the age of the switch. Be careful though as the older and newer models have different switches and they are not interchangeable.

If it's the switch, I have an early Levin-switch as spare. Wink

On my car it's on of the connectors going to the switch that is causing the problem...so a new one may not be necessary.

I had the problem with the lightswitch too, a ziptie (cabletie) took care of that problem. Just wrap it around the switch/plug and tighten it.
