PS: How your carburator conversion is going, Alimonos ?
A friend here already made such conversion - 45 Webers seems too big, 40s are just fine. But he says that stock ECU have problems with ignition advance now.

Same here jammie but he says it works pretty good with the stock ECU.
I don't know if the difference is that it is a redtop one ...
Next month i am going to make the conversion Jammie. I 'll let you know !!!

The ECU will probably go to "limp home" mode when those sensors are disconnected, running a very conservative timing...so if you adjust the static timing to the desired advance it will probably have the same effect as bridging the check engine connector.

Carburators love aggresive timing - I think even 40 can be reached sometimes !
I bet to 10 start up to 37 maximum. Try to use "only centrifugal" type of distributor - without vacuum correction.

PS: If static timing should be used, try some like 20-25 (otherwise you maybe cannot even start the engine).

WKD RWD: was your car originally fuel injected or carburated? the reason i'm asking is, i'm in the US and my car is a carburated sr-5 i'm running fixed static timing w/ a GT-s dizzy and igniter and i'm needing mech/vaccuum advance so i was wondering if you could get they info from the guy who modded your dizzy and post it for all of us w' this same problem thanks alot

P.S.

if you want me to i'll post pics tonight of how i have my fixed static ran

euro 4AGE's are orinigally Injection but i changed to carbs, i wont be seeing the guy who did the job for a while but i will try get the info for you, irishtwincam is much more technical minded than me i would say, i can only do the knuckle breaking jobs Tongue
