@Mux, the trick is to start driving and racing a car you REALLY dislike...amazing what lengths you'll go through to save a buck then. Cool

A pedal to steer the rear

Ivan141 Wrote:You could probably have gotten 4 discs and 4 sets of brakepads for about the same price or less from USN centuri.. But it really doesnt matter much. I paid about the same for the front discs and rear pads as the prices on that website, and that's without the usual discount..
Yeah, but do they also have a clutch-slave cylinder there? Tongue
Mux ordered one for me along: I'm definetely in need of replacing the old one. I forgot to check the clutchoil a few weeks and suddenly it was empty again. Confused
For the new slave cylinder: see the attached pic Smile

Anyway, to get back on topic:

WOW! Huh
It looks like you can put it on a recordplayer and listen to the music your hachi made. Big Grin

Today proved to be a very interesting day. First I went to Grootebroek, my friend Ed was having a celebration because his DeLorean garage has joined forces with one of the biggest supplier of DeLorean parts in America.

For the occasion they had a dyno there to test the performance of the DeLoreans that came there. Later in the day they let other cars get a try aswell and offcourse I put the hachi to the test.

I am well pleased with the results. 112HP @ 6150rpm at the wheels measured. Calculated back with the measured drive train losses it came to 137HP at the flywheel give or take a bit. Not bad for a 23 year old stock 124HP engine with only the intake and exhaust changed.

Torque is 175Nm @ 4259 rpm but looking at the graph it has a jittery but pretty flat torque up to 5500 rpm so I am well pleased with thatSmile

In the afternoon I went to Jasper (TE71Corrola), unfortunately I had forgotten my camera. We put a rebuild caliper on the left rear, the others will be done later on. We also cleaned up my lights so they no longer look warn out and old and hooked up the blinkers at the side.

Last but not least my fiberglas front fenders came off and my old metal ones were put on. Jasper had cleaned them up for me and welded new bits of metal where rust used to be. It looks really good eventhough the fixed bit are now only covered with primer and I have holes where the old blinkers and antenna used to be.

What was most surprising however was that the old color of my car matches the new paint job EXACTLY! There isn't even the slightest difference in tint. Its amazing that a brand new paint job matches a 23 year old original paint job so well. It opens up a few avenues I haven't thought about for awhileSmile

Mux, i really must say: Sorry dude, there MUST be a fail in that dyno-test. Not only is the hp output the highest i have ever seen in a stock 4age, but the momentum of the engine is WAY to high to be realistic.

Furthermore; You have your max hp at a pretty low rpm, all others have max @ 500-700 rpm higher. Evenmore the max torque is at roughly 1000 rpm lower than usual.

Either your engine is a "special jubilee limited edition" (YaY then) or theres a guy with a dyno in need of calibration.

Knudsen,

Hehehe, well maybe the dyno was thrown off after having measured so many heavy DeLoreansSmile

I'm probably going to have it dyno tested at a mates garage some day in the near future. Then we will see what the difference is. Smile

Don't you understand anything Mux...this is the time where you should start screaming that the dyno operator is knowledgable and that there is ABSOLUTELY NOTHING WRONG with the dyno etc..ghe ghe ghe. Such seems to be the tradition when it comes to plots.
