Welcome!
Have you got any pics of your beauty? I own a converted SR5 as well, however I didn't do the conversion: TE71Corolla did it before I bought it. 1983 - AE86 Sprinter Trueno - import project 2013 - Honda Civic sport - daily driver 2004 - AEU86 dot ORG - daily domain Support our forum, buy from the AEU86 shop: |

here Re the exterior pics. not to much to look at really, alittle bit of rust, but my grandad (who owned a bodyshop for more than 30 yrs.) is going to help me fix her up right. it is basically a factory gts now, only mods are crappy pacesetter header (just needed something to put it on the road but will be replace when i put a turbo in) RSR cat-back exahust and old school SAAB Carol Shelby wheels. not much now but there is deffenantly more to come!!!

we don't get AE85 and Trueno and Coupe over in UK, just Levin Hatch with 4AGE. i've heard that the rear drum break on the AE85 is awsome for lock up handbrake.
LHD is bit more headache for turbo conversion because of the brake master cylinder. please get us updated. LONG LIVE TOYOTA!! |

I see some rust near the rear fender. Any other (vital) spots which need attention?
And the rims, are those the same as the attached picture? 1983 - AE86 Sprinter Trueno - import project 2013 - Honda Civic sport - daily driver 2004 - AEU86 dot ORG - daily domain Support our forum, buy from the AEU86 shop: |

yeah it looks like they are. these rims no not the easyest thing to come by over here. but they look good and have the same bolt pattern. i am not going to be sliding these however because i needed to put 1inch spacers on since the offset was alittle different steering angle was compromised. but i need to run a 40 series tire because of alittlebit of fender scrub when the supension compreses. i will try to get some pics (upclose) of the spacers and what not.
as far as the rust, that is the most noticeable however there is some under the right side rear bumper extention |

Usually there is some rust around the boot (spare wheel well etc.) and sometimes under the rear seat in the corners. Those are just a few places to look for it.. For the rest I hope your project turns out nice.

Don't forget to double check the inner wheel arches.
