Well, I have taken the head off and bought all the new parts for it. but before anything else happens I have to replace the clutch master cylinder... but the pushrod on the new one is shorter than the old one... have to make a nwe one that will work on it. I have also taken the front drivers side fender off to do a little work on it so that it isn't so dent-ish lol. I will have pictures next time I get into the shed. prolly tommorow

well, I still need to find a metric coupling nut, or were just going to take an all thread to connect the pedal to the master cylinder

just to update...
Haven't had much time to work on it.. Also I did something very stupid... I got the new waterpump but then I cracked it as soon as I put it in... the water pump has threads on it to hold on the timing belt cover but I ran the threads all the way through to the other side and it created a tension between the two bolts and cracked the pot metal.. I still haven't done anything with the clutch master cylindar yet... but I have a four day weekend from school this weekend... hopefully I'll get some time to work on it them. |

With projects as these, if you keep waiting to "get" time, you'll probably sell an unfinished project in a year or so...Trust me, I came very near. The only way to finish it is to make time. Sometimes it seems that you need to wait on something to continue, but usually its just an excuse for avoiding work that you're uncertain of how to do. Like in your case the waterpump...those can be easily fitted and removed with the engine in the car, so no real reason to wait for one.
Invest a whole 4 day weekend and you'll make a lot of progress. The whole swap could be done in that much time, but if you can get her close to finished you'll feel a lot better. A wheel to steer the front of the car A pedal to steer the rear |
