Where to buy bigger and better brakes?
I know, but if the brakes already starts to fail now, how will it be with almost twice as much power, slicks tyres and a better driver?
I also think of it as a good lifeinsurence, also when driving in the streets.
Money is not an isue when it comes to safety. Smile

I also learnt by other projects, that its cheaper to spend the money right the first time. Thats why I use pretty much time doing research.

Project AE86 now begun.

Thanks Skassa for the perfect example. I've had the same experience with the brakes on the volvo..We were driving the entire day, outbraking everything around us and just sending the car back onto the track after a short driver change..The stock brakes were not just acting well, they were doing rather phenomenally!
Then I got onto a v360 tuning forum and I suddenly found out that the stock volvo brakes wouldn't hold up for even a single lap on a circuit..Stupid me thinking Zandvoort was a circuit..must have been a swimming pool or something.. I tried to explain this to these people, but they just wouldn't listen..I still find that very strange..they almost seem to want to find problems to throw large amounts of money at. Confused

Dunno..maybe it has something to do with mechanical empathy..I drive like an idiot, but have yet to ruin a diff or brake system. Guess its down to a large part of knowing exactly when and how to drive agressively and how everything affects the mechanical bits.

A pedal to steer the rear

Coolpipes is a great idea, but at a hot track, with the tempereture rises form the tarmac, the system is not so effective. But your right, coolpipes makes a diffenrence. Smile

Some BMW's have airducts to the brakes as standard.

So you think it´s becourse you are a better driver,
We will have to time that, give my your times, and in what car and any of the danish tracks,or Knutstorp, maybe.

One Mantorp, i was on A048,and i could beat a several 300hp Impreza´s with the AE86 making 260hp.

That was using T-hansen discs,were i cut some makes with a dyegrinder,using mintex1155

front and rear
