Hmmm you still don't get it completely...so I wouldn't lock this one yet.
10psi is what the turbo will sustain at 10 psi..Your engine "might" survive that kind of power..provided you don't rev it out to much, your tranny probably won't. In projects like yours, with everything bodged together, no real fuelings solution, no modified timing, no knock controll, it is usually not the boost that kills the engine, but knock. Running lots of boost is certainly possible but comes at a risk. Having said that, the numbers you provided look ok..5psi and 8 psi should be ok, but you might be running the turbo outside of its efficiency area..can you try and find the efficiency map for your particular turbo.We can take a look at it together and see whether you would be better of switching.. Okay, but i think ive got the knock handled.
Ill be getting E-Manage U soon to play with timing and manage AFR I have big injectors with a big pump, I have changed sparkplugs and wires, I have a FMIC. Running Canadian 91 octane. Isnt that the knock down? I know its not essentially the boost that kills a motor. And I WONT be running 10psi, I just wanted to know where to generally draw the line with 4age's |
