AE85/3au wires - Which goes where?
Just recently i have put a new 3au in my ae85 to get it past that new smoke restriction. Everything is in and complete except for three wires on the side of the engine. Three in one plug on the car side, and 2 different plugs on the engine side. I have no idea which wire does what and connects with which.

They are located on the passenger side of the engine, about halfway along the block behind the starter motor.

It may also be worth mentioning that the engine is not turning over, not a sound from the starter motor, but the stereo works fine Cool

Hmm..not too many of us familiar with the 3AU engine around here...it was never sold in hachi's in europe and the US.

The wiring cant be that difficult for the starter engine at least, and you could trace those loose connectors back to see what they are for (which would help).

The starter only needs one signal wire to work, and one big fat power cable.
You could try bridging a wire straight from the battery to the signal wire attachment to find out if the problem is in the starter or your wiring.

Hmmm, i knew that most people here wouldn't know it, but it was worth a shot right?

I was going to try something along those lines, but i thought i'd ask around a few places, just incase someone could tell me.
