Injector size advice on 7age
I´m about to put my 7age together, finally.
I need advice on which injectors to use. Short resume... It will be 1.8liter, redtop pistons, Shrick 258cams. Will it be advisable to use a fuel regulator? Ideally, you should run the injectors on their perscribed fuel-pressure, or a tiny bit above.
If you give me you est.hp level its peanuts to calculate injector.flowrate tons of calculators on the net. Most important thing to keep an eye on is that the engine management can handle the new injectors. A wheel to steer the front of the car A pedal to steer the rear |

I come up with about 311cc/min for 170hp. Thats calculating everything to its maximum. More then likely the 295cc/min injectors from 20V engines will be more then enough to sustain your desired horsepower levels.
Do make sure that fuelpressure is within spec at a minimum of 35psi. Red/blue top injectors will not work properly. You will not get a clean injection of fuel during each cycle. The resulting lean condition in individual cylinders will be hard to detect, but will slowly chew away at an already weak engine design. Denmark Wrote:Peter,,Hi Skassa.... To begin with I will use a redtop manifold which has been modified to fit the AE86. Allthough i have a complete set of 20v ITB´s and adapter in the shed. This will have to wait until i know if "turbomotor.dk" can fix the ECU to run them. I simply dont have the money to run standalone at the moment. Hi Peter,
GZE injectors are 370cc/min, so they flow more then enough. A wheel to steer the front of the car A pedal to steer the rear |

Hi.
I can´t imagine that it will run well, with gze injector without changing the ecu, I belive it will run fine with oe injectors, with just raised pressure, that will also not cost anything(just cruch the oe fpr in a "skruestik", That will do the trick. I just had my blacktop on dyno, and that made 161hp@7930rpm, and 165nm@6050rpm, The old engine with schrick 256, janspeed manifold and 2" exhaurst ,made 134hp@7150rpm -142nm@4200rpm, So there is "some" more power in the blacktop /Skassa Any fool can go fast in a straight line.
