AFAIK the JDM fwd sprinter models were refered as AE81.
EE80Liftback: 4A-F? I always assumed it would be powered by the 4A-C. 1983 - AE86 Sprinter Trueno - import project 2013 - Honda Civic sport - daily driver 2004 - AEU86 dot ORG - daily domain Support our forum, buy from the AEU86 shop: |

Split these posts at the request of blueneon, discussion is going in a different direction. Placed it in offtopic for now but this could turn interesting so might move it to technical if you guys keep posting nice info about EE80/AE80 tuning

Thanks Bas,
You know this could open up a new line for us poor people, I have talked about toying with the AE80 before CLICKY Hmm... I hope that Hachiroku purists dont get out their torches and pitchforks and hound out the Hachizero... still no 86 ________________________ |

AE/EE 80/82 people are more than welcome to hang around here.. but what I just dont understand is why you think the fwd corolla's open up a line to poor people who like the ae86. I would much rather own that silvia of yours, it comes ten times closer to the concept of an ae86 than an ae82 does.
Dont get me wrong, the ee80 is a perfectly fine cheap econobox, reliable too , and the ae82 gt is a great car to drive. But they're no closer to an ae86 than a silvia is IMHO. The older ke70 corolla's are much closer...RWD and the same basic chassis on the coupe models. FABRICA MI DIEM, PVNC! |

That's why I'm not going to turn my car into project. If you want an AE86 just buy one, if you can't afford it and want something close at least buy something RWD. |
